Drafts and updates security contingency plans for a security unit.
• Monitors prevailing local security conditions and trends and advises personnel, project personnel and eligible dependents on security issues.
• Serves as a member of the Security Cell, contributing to implementation and evaluation of the security plan.
• Monitors air, land and sea emergency evacuation capability; conducts evacuation exercises
• Assists in the assessment of accessible areas and assists in the coordination of a 24-hour Emergency Response System as required.
• Conduct security risk assessments for the area of operations as required.
• Maintains continuing lines of communication with security focal points and other UN or non-UN stake holders.
• Contributes to the delivery of security training to security and non-security personnel.
• Provides advice, guidance and support on security related matters affecting UN personnel in mission or field offices, as required.
• Conducts routine physical security assessments of UN facilities.
• Provides advice to UN personnel and eligible dependents on security matters, as assigned.
