Supports the supervision of 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) in daily operations and coordinates security operations and emergency response, as required.
• Re-enforces the Security Liaison Unit (SLU) during periods of high level of commitments and operational tempo.
• Supports security field assessments and visits.
• Contributes to efficient liaison with local authorities and external stakeholders.
• Assists with monitoring and reporting of events, activities, and incidents pertaining to the safety and security of UN personnel and their eligible dependents at the duty station.
• Assists and ensures the Crisis Coordination Centre (CCC) communication equipment is always functional and operational in case of crisis or emergencies.
• Assists and ensures the timely and accurate completion and dissemination of daily/weekly situation/flash reports and security related advisories and updates.
• Maintains security listings/database of all UN personnel and their eligible dependents at the duty station, wherever there is a UN presence.
• Assists and ensures that periodic radio checks are conducted through SOC or as/when required.
• Conducts security briefings for UN personnel and their eligible dependents upon initial arrival and refresher briefings as required.
• Monitors and ensures that UN personnel are following travel advisories and security clearance procedures and maintains a tracking system.
• Assists in operational training as required.
• Assists in the development of security contingency plans.
• Assesses the prevailing local security conditions, identifying security trends and advise all UN personnel, project personnel and eligible dependents on security issues as required.
