Counterintelligence Specialist – Iraq

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of a DS Special Agent, the Counterintelligence (CI) support specialist provides vetting-related services. Major duties and responsibilities include:
Conducts screenings on various individuals with either access to Chief of Mission facilities or who are hired into a position that allows them knowledge of Chief of Mission operations.
Interviews walk-in sources, conducts liaisons, supports security/operational security/force protection programs and produces timely written reports and assessments.
Provides direct support to the Regional Security Office (RSO) as appropriate, which frees RSO assets for other duties.
Provides routine and recurring support to RSO, CI and Human Intelligence (HUMINT) activities from fixed and secure locations (defined facilities and properties).
RSO conducts activities such as debriefing of personnel, intelligence liaison with other
U.S. Government and host country agencies, support to operational security awareness programs, CI/security assessments, screening of Locally Employed Staff (LES screening), initial handling of walk-in sources, CI support to force protection, intelligence report writing/quality control, and can support other operations within the scope of this statement of work.
Provide administrative support related to specific areas of assignment.
